Difference between Dynamics CRM 2016 and Dynamics 365
As part of December 2016 update for Dynamics 365 (online and on-premises), the product name changes from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 to Microsoft Dynamics 365. Dynamics 365 will provide a new application platform and common data model which will pair across other cloud apps like Microsoft Power-Apps, Power BI and Microsoft Flow along with Office 365.

Important:
As of now, Dynamics 365 Server is just an update of Dynamics CRM 2016 (Dec 2016 update) and No separate setup / media is in place to establish a new deployment. We have to deploy Dynamics CRM 2016 first and then need to apply the Dec 2016 update – alternatively we can upgrade existing deployments in a given path and sequence.
